Let’s create tomorrow’s favourites together
The development department is the heart of our business. It was here that we developed the world’s first chocolate pellets for bakeries. It was here, over the course of a few busy weeks, that we developed the liquorice lolly for Unilever. Nogger and Magnum required a little more time. We also developed aseptic chocolate for dairies here.
This is where ideas are born, tested, developed, tested again and finally converted into a rational part of your manufacturing process. We do this on the basis of your brand, your product strategy and consumer tastes. Step through the doors into our top-secret development department and you never know what awaits you. Perhaps you will meet the product engineers as they calmly mix, sample and discuss formulas to create the unique product you want. Perhaps you will be confronted by a scene of feverish activity, bordering on chaos. Perhaps there will be nothing, apart from the pleasant aromas of sweet fruit, vanilla and chocolate. Perhaps it is when the lab is empty that the last piece of the jigsaw will fall into place; the piece that transforms a new taste into a success.
The path from idea to finished product is rarely a straight line between A and B. It’s not that easy to produce inspired, creative solutions. You can’t generate new ideas at the flick of a switch. Often we need to gather more information about the assignment – about the raw materials or the processes you use. And lastly, of course, our solution has to be one that matches your production resources. Sounds a little vague and unplanned? Just the contrary, we follow a carefully formulated working method – a method that makes space for creative input and experimentation.Taste is an experience, a sensation, and this must also be reflected in the development process.
